Awakening My Intuition: The Bus, the Breakthrough, and the Life I Was Meant to Live

There was a time when everything looked picture perfect from the outside. I was married to my high school sweetheart, Landon. We had two beautiful daughters, Willow and Ivy, a dog, a house, and a wardrobe full of gorgeous pieces from the boutique I worked and modelled for. But under the surface, I was completely disconnected from myself.

Landon was working full time, I was part-time while raising two little girls under two. We were always chasing bills,

expectations, and a version of life that looked good on paper. Deep down, I was just surviving. Numb. Running on empty.

In 2015, while setting up Willow’s nursery with my mum, I got the call that my dad had taken his own life. Six days later, Willow was born. That combination of heartbreak and love cracked me open. It planted the first seed of change, the idea that maybe life didn’t have to look like this.

By 2018, we bought Sonny, a decommissioned school bus, and began turning her into our future home. Within a year, it became obvious we couldn’t keep living our old life while building a new one. So we took a leap, quit our jobs, and began managing a caravan park in the Flinders Ranges. It wasn’t easy with toddlers and bus renos, but it felt like freedom was finally within reach.

In 2020, the world slowed down, and so did I. Chronic pain, a fibro diagnosis, and migraines forced me into stillness. But through that stillness, my spirituality came alive. My dad began communicating with me. I had no spiritual background, no “training”, just a deep inner knowing I couldn’t ignore.

That awakening became the beginning of Earthy Narelle, where I now offer intuitive guidance, psychic readings, and sacred space for women navigating big transitions. I help others tune back in to what they already know deep inside.

At the same time, I help run Zero Grid, our off grid business that grew out of Landon’s experience designing and building our own power system. We’ve now helped thousands of Aussies create off grid setups for caravans, tiny homes, boats, buses and more and we do it all while living off grid ourselves, homeschooling our kids, and chasing patchy reception from the road.

Juggling it all, family, business, intuitive work, bus life, is not always easy. Wifi drops out. Packages go missing. Kids need snacks while I’m holding space on Zoom. Some days are pure chaos. But it’s our chaos. And it’s worth it.

If you’re reading this and you feel the pull to something different, to live more simply, more connected, more in tune with yourself… this is your sign. You don’t have to move into a bus (though I do recommend it!). You just need to start listening to your inner voice. That nudge. That whisper. That spark.

And then… follow it.

With love, Narelle
